Small Jewels

Small Jewels

In 2008 an unanticipated and enforced move of house led to a wasted garden with nearly all plant life eradicated.

As the Winter progressed small glimmers of colour occurred as the few transplanted travellers established new roots.

Some new arrivals started to gain hold. These glimmers of colour, life and promise were as precious as jewels.

I begin to realise that both jewels and plants came from the same place even though the time scale was significantly different. As with crystals my new gifts were small, many faceted and to me sparkling and brilliant.

However, like jewels they expanded and enriched the light around them. Each of the flowers was as precious as a diamond. My few tiny blooms became a treasure trove.
