10-21 February 2009
Depot II Gallery, Danks Street
An exhibition of digital prints and mixed media focussing on the world of the urban garden at a macro level. It encapsulates the developing subject matter of artist Susan Jardin.
The urban garden is a complex mix of flora, structures, class and cultural values, traces of animal, insect and human life, symbols and spirits. Sue Jardin views this landscape from a particularly close view with the intent of changing the scale of the light, colour and texture from stamp size to poster size.
This process can at times produce glimpses of almost recognised characters and events particularly in the life cycle from the contraction of blooming to the production of seed for the renewal of life.
